  • Targeting the $1.6 Billion Annual Market with Joint Development of AI for Early Lung Cancer Detection
  • Strategic Partnership Aiming for FDA Clearance and Global Expansion

Medical AI company Coreline Soft (CEO: JinKook Kim) announced that it has signed a joint development agreement with U.S. healthcare company Oatmeal Health to create an AI solution for lung cancer screening. This collaboration goes beyond a simple technology partnership—marking Coreline’s full-fledged entry into the U.S. reimbursement market while securing leading technology in lung cancer malignancy prediction.

The two companies’ key objective is the development of an integrated CADe-CADx product that combines Coreline Soft’s AI nodule detection engine (CADe) with Oatmeal Health’s malignancy prediction algorithm (CADx). This product moves beyond simple lung nodule detection by quantifying lesion risk and providing AI-driven classification criteria, thereby improving early diagnostic accuracy and enhancing efficiency in clinical decision-making.

The product targets the U.S. low-dose chest CT lung cancer screening market and will be billable under CMS-issued CPT codes, ensuring a predictable revenue model. In the U.S., only 18% of the 14 million eligible lung cancer screening candidates actually undergo screening. Based on a reimbursement rate of $650 per scan, the market size reaches $1.6 billion annually, while including incidental CT scans, the potential market extends to 93 million scans per year.

Coreline Soft CEO JinKook Kim stated:
“Through our collaboration with Oatmeal Health, we will establish a reimbursement-based revenue structure for real U.S. patients and build leading technology in the lung cancer screening market.”

Oatmeal Health has been selected as part of the first CancerX accelerator cohort under the White House Cancer Moonshot initiative and operates a digital health-based early lung cancer screening platform for underserved populations.

Jonathan Govette, CEO of Oatmeal Health, remarked:
“This partnership enables us to provide a fully integrated, reimbursable AI diagnostic solution.”

Dr. Yuri Ahuja, MD, PhD, CTO of Oatmeal Health, added:
“We are excited to launch a truly best-in-class CADe-CADx product through this collaboration.”

Yi-Sik Jang, Director of Strategic Business at Coreline Soft, commented:
“Oatmeal Health’s vision to expand healthcare equity through reimbursement structures and public health programs aligns perfectly with ours. This agreement will serve as a foundation for building a global healthcare innovation network centered in North America while accelerating business expansion.”

In North America, Coreline Soft has already achieved hospital-centered business outcomes through partnerships with Temple Health, Baylor College of Medicine, and 3DR Labs.
