Coreline Soft announced that it has successfully secured two new U.S. patents for highly complex, ultra-precise technologies within the medical Artificial Intelligence (AI) sector.
The newly registered patents cover 'AI-based Representative Image Provision Technology' and 'Stream Order-based Airway Level Determination Technology.'
The 'Representative Image Provision Technology' is a patented method for providing key images based on AI analysis results of chest CT (Computed Tomography) scans, which can consist of up to thousands of slices. Users can assess the reliability of the analysis results based on these representative images, drastically reducing unnecessary image navigation time. Furthermore, this technology maximizes accuracy by incorporating clinician feedback back into AI training.
The 'Airway Level Determination Technology' centers on determining bronchial structure generations (levels) by combining top-down and bottom-up flow analysis. Due to significant inter-patient variability in airway structures, conventional automatic analysis often resulted in errors. The company explained that applying this new technology enables precise airway leveling by simultaneously utilizing bidirectional information. This significantly improves the accuracy of quantitative analysis for conditions such as COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease), airway obstructive diseases, and bronchiectasis.
"Generating representative images and airway leveling are among the most challenging core technologies in AI-assisted interpretation," stated Kim Jin-kook, CEO of Coreline Soft. "These patents will serve as a crucial technological foundation for the AVIEW platform to expand into integrated multi-disease analysis, covering various thoracic conditions."
Coreline Soft has successfully built a portfolio of over 20 U.S. patents, having recently completed U.S. patent registration for AI-based visualization technology. Through these patents, the company is securing the technological foundation to analyze the entire thoracic region—including lungs, bronchi, coronary arteries, the aorta, and emphysema—within a single unified AI platform.
